West Ink Records head honcho, Mampintsha has announced his departure from the music industry.
In a series of videos posted on his Instagram page, the muso said he was receiving hate from industry peers and said the climate was not inviting and conducive for him and that he had been thinking about retirement for some time.
“I’ve been thinking and I see the current situation and all that’s been happening and my time in the game and all the hits I’ve been giving you. I can see that people aren’t happy, I don’t even mean the fans, and I mean people I was supposedly close with and such people. It’s not pleasant here anymore.”
Mampintsha said he didn’t feel supported in the industry and didn’t want fans to be offended because he appreciated their support.
“Don’t call this giving up because I’m not giving up, but I thought this should be my last year making music while I work on something on the side.”
As a going away gift, the gqom-maverick said he will release two last singles before signing out.
