The best in bathroom designs and products will be showcased by three of South Africa’s top creatives at the ISCA Bathroom Trends Project, forming part of the 25th edition of Decorex Joburg – the leading décor, design and lifestyle exhibition taking place at the Gallagher Convention Centre from 8 to 12 August.
Sian Cullingworth, portfolio director at Decorex SA, said top designers will upgrade the basic bathroom setting using the latest furniture, accessories, and fixtures available.
“Bathrooms are taking a much more stylistically-inspired role within the home and this year’s ISCA Bathroom Trends Project will demonstrate exactly how homeowners can revolutionise this space,” said Cullingworth.
ISCA, a trend-setter in kitchen and bathroom fittings, launched an exciting new range of colourful taps at The Living Room in Maboneng on 7 August, the new range is trendy, DIY and cost-effective – a perfect combination for city living.
“We are excited to be featuring at Decorex Joburg this year – it’s the perfect platform to share ISCA’s latest interior trends and tap couture, allowing visitors to engage with the influencers to get inspiration to do it themselves at home,” said John Westermeyer, chief marketing officer, LIXIL Africa.
For the last five months, ISCA has been working with South African blogger and owner of LOVILEE, Karen ‘kaRi’ Kelly as well as design duo, Brad Muttitt and Abiah Mahlase to create stunning collections based on the latest local and international trends in an attempt to show consumers how to get the on-trend look while having fun.
The ISCA Bathroom Trends Project will feature two bathroom settings, the first, Urban Playground, will be curated by Brad Muttitt and Abiah Mahlase while Karen Kelly will be taking on the second bathroom setting – Future Folk.
“Over the years, bathrooms have been modernised and decorated to stay on trend. Bathrooms should not only be a functional space but a space that a person can enjoy and incorporate ongoing styles,” Mahlase said.
Kelly said her the Future Folk trend embraces a nostalgic look and feel with a modern take.
“It is an evolution of the grounded trend, inspired by the longing that we have to reconnect with our roots, where we came from before we were absorbed up into all the stress and rush of this world,” Kelly said.
