Cyclists and photographers from all over Johannesburg descended on Lebo’s Backpackers in Soweto to take part in the first-ever #InstaRide #IRideSoweto.

The ride was established by Andile Bhala, a local street photographer and cyclist, to encourage people to see Soweto and interact with the people of the township.

Bhala is well known for his documentary photography work, which portrays the everyday life of the people of Soweto.

He uses his bicycle to commute through the streets of Soweto as he feels that by doing this he can connect better with the subjects he photographs.

You can read the full story and see the pictures in the November edition of City Buzz.
