#HillbrowShooting: The case of the 29-year old man accused of the murder of five postponed

The case of Sabelo Ngubane, who is accused of murdering five people, including two minors and three women, was today postponed to 19 April.

With his first appearance in the Johannesburg Regional Court on 10 March, Ngubane’s case was remanded for a week after the accused notified the court of his intention to appoint his own lawyer.

This morning (17 March), when he appeared in court for the second time, Ngubane asked regional Magistrate Simon Radasi to grant him more time to seek an attorney.

Radasi granted the postponement pending Ngubane’s efforts to obtain a lawyer.

The court heard that the State also needs time to continue its investigation. Ballistics reports and the post mortem results for the five deceased are yet to be obtained.

The court heard that legal aid will be appointed for Ngubane if he does not secure a lawyer before his next court appearance.

City Buzz will provide an update on the case on 19 April when the accused appears in court again.
