Heineken Next Level Bar opens in Braam

The custom-made pop-up bar was inspired by the design of the new, sleek Heineken 330ml Cool Can that was launched earlier this year.

In the spirit of this first-to-beer innovation and the Open Next Level campaign, the bar was developed to create a cool space for creatives to meet and collaborate while enjoying totally unique experiences and having the chance to showcase their work to the world.

Celebrity guests, media and some of the biggest names in the South African creative industry flocked to the venue to get a taste of what’s on offer at the new, trendy spot. They were even treated to a unique virtual reality experience from The Super Friendship Arcade. A range of unconventional games were set up for the guests to try their hand at. There were even quirky controllers made out of Heineken’s new Cool Can, a perfect example of the kind of innovative collaborations that can be expected at the Next Level Bar.

Tjeerd Veldhuis, marketing manager of Heineken South Africa said, “We learned that there was a real need for space for young creative talent to work, collaborate and meet others and, as a brand, we want to help elevate them to the next level.” He went on to explain that the space has free wi-fi and a number of other facilities, as well as inspirational design.

“In addition to the physical space, we are giving creatives access to our social media platforms to enable them to showcase their work to SA and the world,” Veldhuis added.

The Heineken Next Level Bar, which can be found on Smit Service Street, Braamfontein, is open and free to the public until 12 December. Operating hours are 2pm until midnight Tuesday to Saturday.
